Great I`ve been looking forward to this since its inception!, however it is only available on RC3 ... despite this I installed it on my site with RC2 but I get one error with subs.php

You are using Project Tool I presume? It's a conflit with Project tool. Hope Arantor will explain more in details.

I can see that as something we add to SD actually. The standalone mode was never intended to be used with portals, and doing our own would likely be easier for users than trying to get it to work nicely with all the portal mods.

An optional to enable our own fontpage so user can either decide to use SD's fontpage or portal's fontpage which can be done from our ACP

That's the case with safari, are you using safari? I am on Mac and using Chrome and it download just fine without extracting the zip. As for .tar you can rename it to .tar.gz

This morning it appeared as an easter egg, with the caption "I am ready to be released", but I changed it to "I have been released!"

Given that nearly all the team have cat avatars and 1.0 is named in that honour (Felidae is Latin for cats), it seemed appropriate.

It's still optional. Heck I do not use Karma which is a core feature as I see no use for it hence it's optional so I leave it disabled. I don't see no reason SD not being a Core.

That's why it's a core feature which should be in 2.1 as well as Bugtracker and the popular User Accounts Integration: Facebook Connect. I don't think any other software can match up to this...not even VB.
