SimpleDesk Support / OS upgrade issue, help :(
November 27, 2013, 05:22:34 AM
I had SMF/SD running fine on a Lion server, then decided to upgrade to Mavericks, all went well, but SD...

I have PhpMyAdmin running now, but I can't locate the old db, and when I "repointed" the web server to the folder with the SMF/SF files, I get "Connection Problems / Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later."

On phpmyadmin, I have this db's:

    information_schema    Check Privileges Check Privileges
    mysql    Check Privileges Check Privileges
    performance_schema    Check Privileges Check Privileges
    test    Check Privileges Check Privileges
Total: 4

Using repair_settings.php, I get "Some settings are not being shown because the MySQL connection information is incorrect."

Any idea on where to start "reconnecting this? I have over 1100 active tickets and probably gonna get my rear end kicked hard if I can't rebuild this...

I am looking for a way to have a grading system for my IT Support Team. Something like a slider that gives a "rolling grade" to the overall satisfaction with the team or a simple "I'm happy" or "I'm sad".

The objective is to know a percentage of customers that are currently satisfied vs dissatisfied.

Any suggestions?

Couldn't find a how-to update on SMF, not showin in any Admin menus.. can someone tell me the process to update?

Thanks!

Curious, I am having the same issue hee with some tickets, but they were created by SD....
#5
I can only assign tickets to Regular Members and Employees, even with Global Moderator checked on "Membergroups This Role Applies To" and with members as part of the "Global Moderator" group I get the "There are no staff configured; it is not possible to assign a ticket. Please contact your administrator." nag.

Funny thing is that if I check "Regular Members" the the nag goes away, but none of the Administrators show up on the drop down list to assign tickets to.

If I remove Admin permissions for certain GM members, they get back into the "assignable" list...

If I keep anyone as Admin, that member does not show on the list...

Any ideas?

Having the same issue:

- created staff role
- Assigned membergroup to staff role
- multiple departments checked on the Staff role.
- have members listed under membergroup that is assigned to Staff.

Still getting "There are no staff configured; it is not possible to assign a ticket. Please contact your administrator."

help... :/

SimpleDesk Support / Modifying the Title "My Community"
January 31, 2013, 07:25:43 PM
Hi There!

I can't find a place to change "My Community" on SimpleDesk, I found instructions for SMF, but the menu tree changed after I installed SD...

Anyone has a suggestion or link?

Thanks!

Thank you for your response. Quick question, are you running on a Mac as well? If so, are you using MySQL?

Thanks!

SimpleDesk Support / Installing on a Mac OS Server.
January 29, 2013, 08:16:01 PM
Hey folks!

I successfully installed SMF on a 10.8 Mac OS Server, but when it comes to install SimpleDesk, I get this error:

Database Error
SQL logic error or missing database
near "AS": syntax error
File: /Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default/smf/Packages/temp/SimpleDesk-SimpleDesk-7310740/install.php
Line: 666

I am using SQLite for SMF.

Any ideas on what can be going wrong here?

BTW, here is line 666:

   WHERE hdt.id_last_msg = hdtr.id_msg AND hdt.last_updated = 0');
