Glad it's solved

Does the user have access to at least 1 Department?
Did you accidentally hide the menu button (options/display options)?

News and Announcements / Re: SimpleDesk 2.0 Anatidae

2.0 is indeed a high note... as much as I hate to see you go (though I understand the reasons), I can't express how thankful and appreciative I am that SD 2.0 has come to light. It was certainly a pleasure working with you, helping out where I could.

Best of luck to you... as if I don't know where to find ya :P

Spoogs.

p.s. My condolence and it's really a great way to honour your dad and/or celebrate his birthday.

Language packs are not yet available... What is the problem you are having?
#96
That's a rather interesting approach... Could you not have created the same front page using SD's front page.. meaning if it is a custom html/bbc/php page couldn't SD handle that (I'm just curious)?
#97
After you activate the plugin, the settings for the frontpage is added to SimpleDesk's ACP under the options tab. You must create a frontpage for it to be visible.

The plugin adds a frontpage for your helpdesk.... No it cannot create a portal block for any portal.

SimpleDesk Support / Re: Locking Tickets?

No that feature is not available.

There is however a setting in SMF, that will warn a user if a new reply was made before their reply is submitted.

Use user roles and staff roles instead
You really should only use admin roles for people to trust to administrate the helpdesk meaning they can do anything in the helpdesk.
users in Admin roles can change anything the forum administrator can in the helpdesk.

Staff notes are planned for a future release... at this time the are no estimated dates for future development or releases.

For now the status updates are automatic, awaiting user/staff reply is more related to indicating whether it was a user or staff member that last replied to the ticket, they don't have to be taken literally. However I do get your point and maybe a more code savvy member of the team can help you out with this part.

Staff scheduling and related features are not available right now but planned for a future release of SD. There are no estimated dates on future development or releases at this time.

Glad you got installed and functional... however keep in mind that it's much easier to use the Package Manager as I explained above unless you're having issues with it.

Enjoy your new helpdesk and feel free start a new topic if you have any other question or issues  8)

Good catch Gruff

@Buck - There maybe reference somewhere in the News and Announcements and other topics across the site, and in our defense the target audience thus far has been SMF users. We've been working on some documentation but that won't be completed until some time after SD 2.0 Final is released.

Firstly SD installs very easily through the Package Manager by going to.. Admin>> Package Manager, then click the download tab, scroll down to Upload a Package and you can upload the zipped package there.

To install via ftp, you would need to create a directory called SimpleDesk in the Packages directory and uploaded the extracted files there, then go to Admin>> Package Manager, you should see SimpleDesk (the directory you created) and it should have an install option.

Extract the zipped packaged and translate the files found in sd_language and sd_plugins_lang
Make sure to rename the translated file properly, then upload them to the proper directories

/themes/default/languages/sd_language for SimpleDesk's files
/themes/default/languages for plugin files
