Title: Create post or importing from mail
Post by: mmiat on July 01, 2011, 02:29:24 PM
Hi
can I import mails and create posts from them?
I'd like that my customer send me an email for asking support, and then a new post appears in SimpleDesk
I've searched in documentation of simpledesk and of smf and I've found anything about this feature
thank you very much

That option is not currently available, it might be in a future version.

The hardest part routing emails to some kind of script, then the script can pretty trivially create the ticket and replies.

The other major problem is that you pretty much have to force users to log in anyway since they need an account to actually read the reply or reply themselves.

the solution can be that when you reply, an email is sent to author
and if he replays, the post will be updated automatically from email

Still must have an account. Anything else is far more work, to the point where you are better looking for other software, it just is not designed for what you are trying to do. Nor do I ever think it will be, for that matter. To make it how you want it, will require a major overhaul, even larger than the one from 1.0 to 2.0.
