Well, it would also have to figure out which ticket to assign the user to, and usually, you assign the ticket to someone while you're reading it, so I doubt you'd ever go to someone's profile and assign the ticket there. Not to mention it would also have to show for only staff. Basically this would be more bloat than anything else. But I certainly hope that this doesn't discourage you guys from suggesting more features =]

There's no need for me to go into someone's profile to assign tickets. If this feature were implemented, it would be pretty useless as the assign button in the actual ticket is WAY more convenient. Why would I need to assign the ticket in the user profile if I already have the assign button right there for me to use right after I see a new ticket? Such a feature would only serve to bloat the software IMO...

But I also think only staff should be able to have tickets assigned to them. If I were the customer of a site using a helpdesk, or even just a user, I wouldn't want so much as the possibility of a random, none staff user being able to see my ticket, let alone be assigned to it...

I got that error as well, for what it's worth.

So I guess you really do need to add the links in yourself, that's weird though as it defeats the purpose of putting the links in the source files =/

that's assuming your forum is located in ./smf

Does the link show up on the default theme?

Then you don't need to add the link to your theme, as the link is added to the source file. Did you enable Simpledesk in Admin > Configuration > Core Features?

Congrats to the dev team! A very fine mod indeed. It's about time SMF had a proper help desk mod ^_^

well, at 99%, I'm hoping we can see the finished goods very shortly. This will be an asset to my cousins site if it is what I am expecting to see.

No, the confusion is simply over how the front page is arranged. Tickets can only be assigned to one person at a time.

Well, we can throw the language files at you but we'd rather have a translation tool in place first. Trouble is, Nas and I have been busy working on SD itself and not had time to work on the language editor.

Might have to just issue the language files somewhere in the forum for you to get cracking... not sure yet. I'm still adding language strings on an almost daily basis right now!

Perhaps you should expand the team...one or two more people wouldn't hurt, and you'd be able to get them to do things like translation editor or anything else that needs to be done while you and Nas work on the core project. You could even make a "customizer" group for such a task.
