Yeah... "facing out" (insert another word I would use instead) IE6 and other junk browsers from the Intrawebz really is my life's dream :P
Has it been much of a pain supporting IE6 in simpledesk? I noticed one issue in the project tracker about it... :'(
Image wise, mostly. The icon set we use doesn't support IE6 by default so we've had to update them. Some broke severely in IE6 when we did that.
There are also some small template issues, but nothing that makes it harder to use for the user.

Agreed. Maybe in a couple of decades the light of hope will shine on us.
