Title: What does private & non-private mean, exactly?
Post by: Mari-chi on February 06, 2011, 08:12:32 AM
Really loving Simple Desk (especially since we were paying to use a non-integrated helpdesk software before... -_-) <333

Just one question: what does private & non-private when opening a ticket mean? I know I can make that part hidden to members, but was just curious what they meant.

Thanks! :)

Private means that the ticket is only viewable to admins and not other members or staff with access to the helpdesk.

Not exactly, actually.

Privacy is one of the tricky matters to set up, the idea behind it was to create a dual layer system so 'non private' tickets were for regular users for staff to tackle, and staff could set up private tickets that only admins/senior staff can see. It's all driven by permissions.
