Or theme authors could come up with something that doesn't rely on stupidly enforcing manual edits to the theme, but that's just my cynical nature.

That said, I added something very clever to SD 1.1 to remove the unread/unreadreplies links and the search box if it's not applicable, in standalone mode, that is in almost every case safely done without being a theme edit.

That's good to hear :)

Messy, yes. Making it large... well, it's already large. I recently did some trimming and brought it down to only 41 things to do on install...

Still not worth it but you could talk to theme authors and ask them to add a menu item for SD just in case :P or you can maybe write something that allows people to import menu buttons depending on theme for SimpleDesk.

Generally it holds up pretty well in the various themes, but to be fair that was mostly what I expected, much as I encountered with Bloc's themes.

And yeah, if there's a totally custom menu, isn't much we can do about that without coding in theme specific support (which I really don't think we should do if we can help it)

I think adding custom theme support ill be too messy and will probably make the modification file large, which really isn't needed it if you ask me.

No problem, as long as you got the images ;) I took three screenies with each of the themes and three different actions such as "Creating ticket", "Admin Area of SD" and "Helpdesk page".

Knock yourself out :P

Here you go: Attached and I also organized the names and stuff. Let me know what you think so I can delete the .zip from here. Anyways, there is no 'help' and 'search' becuase my friend removed them from his site. I noticed that 'Helpdesk' menu button doesn't show in themes that have custom menus but that's understandable :)

If you have access to the full set, I'd really appreciate a full set of screenshots, if only to ensure that it works as intended on those themes, and so that I can tweak it as necessary.

No problem, I will get multiple screenshots of each :)

Awesome, thanks :) I'll take a proper look in a minute, am very curious to see how it turns out; I know just how it looks in Bloc's themes and that it works better in some than others.

I could get you more if you want... With probably all the DS themes.

QuoteWe don't have any screenshots with DS themes, care to share any? (Of course editing out real details ;)) I did a bunch of screenies from free themes, plus Bloc's themes.

I hope you still need one from a DS theme, anyways here ya go:

I attached some eye candy :)

EDIT: this is only for the theme Silentwave.

Arantor, why do I think that your private site has to do with games, is it a game server support forum or something?

Anyways, running this baby in http://smfsupport.info It looks pretty good with the DzinerStudio theme. I was planning on running this on my hosting service but then I realized that most people just Email me for support if needed.

You know a number of the more nasty vulnerabilities are significantly easier to access with jailbroken phones, right?

Hope you also don't want to upgrade your phone's OS :P

Jailbroken with BlackRa1n and running 3.1 iPhone OS. Yes, I know there are security issues but remember in life you gotta take risks.

Anyways, I have an App that protects me :P Plus I changes my password in secure shell because the default is alpine.

Wifi in most cases is interchangeable with 3G; what I was getting at is that you're still talking about a download of in excess of 300MB, likely more, being pushed down a less-than-DSL wireless connection.

Downloaded 1 GB before using my WiFi.

I have unlimited data on my phone.  However being in the US, I can't tether my laptop to my phone (I can, but against TOS), so downloading 3 GB is unusual.

But finding a hotspot to get a wifi connection shouldn't be that hard.

It's called jailbreaking and not caring what Apple thinks, everyones doing it :P in NYC hotspots are all over the place, there are also some insecure WiFi's around my house.

I don't see the point :P Since I use a mobile to access it usually plus there is this cool app for iPhone/iTouch that puts the entire Wikipedia into your phone so you can view it offline O.O

The *entire* archive? English WP has 3.3m articles, even at a very conservative average of 1k per article, you'd be talking 3.3 GB of space uncompressed.

Yes, it's big but it's compressed :P I am pretty sure they removed graphics and stuff :D

Thank god we have 16 GB of space on most smartphones :P

8 GB works for me :D

Whose making it? I always wanted to apply myself to a team/project but no new projects caught my attention...

::)

Really?

I have experience in other fields and also, I admit what I suck at and that's graphics.
By the way, I made it to the UP team because of they were looking for someone like me and I have already done some major work for them, planning on writing some of the documentation soon.

Also, I never asked to join the SMF team and, I only ever asked for beta testing of SD, BUT I never submitted an official application.

PS: I love the picture of a cat on the bottom right and the new icons in post and topic areas.

Is there a graphics team I could join? I have some of the best graphics programs such as Photoshop, Flash, and Fireworks. I can show you some of my projects if needed.

Well, as far is I know you have been in EzP documentation lead forever but EzP doesn't seem to have a documentation out...

Also, I think I might have a screenshot of what you shot at me in the EzP forums that will change the views of the people here. Your comments were one of the reasons, I pulled out my guide to EzP and left the site.

PS: I have the complete CS4 suite and could get CS5 if I wanted too. But even with all those programs, I admit that I stink with graphics and whenever I see people like Nas and Liam making themes, I stop and admire ;)

I seriously want a theme like this one!
