It's more like a helpdesk for support. Google is your friend if you want more info on what that is. :)
But yeah, it can be used like a bug tracker of sorts as well.
I see so if a user had a problem with his account...let's say, he want to change his username which he cannot, only by the administrator so therefore the user make a ticket?

It's just a portal for homepage, that's all there is and I agree that SimpleDesk will be a huge improvement toward the SMF community and its user.

Compatibility is intended for 2.0 RC2+ only. Release date is when it's ready. The dev team have a roadmap in mind and we've talked about provisional dates for release to beta testing as well as provisional public release dates however we'd rather get you all a version 1.0 that is working and bug-free rather than meet a date on a calendar. If it's late, it's late because we wanted it to be awesome, not because of anything else.
