SimpleDesk Team Blog / Get to Know the Geeks: Index
March 11, 2010, 12:28:28 PM
Hey, guys!

So, by now you all know what this project is and what we want to achieve. However, that "we" is in need of a definition. Who are we? You've undoubtedly seen a few get-to-know topics popping up around here. That's the question these topics address. You can find links to each of our team member introductions here in this index. Once you've read each one, feel free to comment and ask us those burning questions. If you're lucky, we might just answer. ;)

SimpleDesk Team Blog / Online Only Mod
March 09, 2010, 12:30:45 PM
Okay, I shortened the title a bit. :) The full name for this second small mod from the SimpleDesk Team is Online Only Groups in the Group Key. Do you have a lot of membergroups? Do they clutter up your users online area? Check out this mod.

Once applied, this mod alters the group key that is visible at the bottom of the board index to show only groups that have members currently online. Thus, if there are no members of a group online, that group is not displayed in the key.

Before

After

You may download the mod from the Simple Machines customize site (direct link: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2456).

Very abstract, but it's there.

So I was just about to comment about how the (pink) logo doesn't even have a reference to the year when I realized that the logo itself is the year. Makes more sense to me now, but it's still a crappy logo. ::)

If you add it to a function, it allows the function to access the global (outside the function) version of the $context variable. Otherwise, it creates a local (inside the function) version and uses that.

This is not a good place to get SMF support. :) You should check out the SMF community for that.

But for the purpose of the Usergroup Display, it's kind of confusing to have two different membergroups with the same color. You're not sure who is BT and who is QA.

But I guess since it's the same job it's not like it matters. :P

You can always click on the membergroup to see who is part of it. :)
