Title: Running simpledesk - basic question?
Post by: faz on November 17, 2011, 07:47:43 PM
Hi there. Late at night so forgive me if I am being an idiot here.

First off, and I appreciate it is hard, but there is a really minimal amount of documentation for simpledesk, which makes installation extremely hard if you've never used SF before. I heard it is being done, but just saying.
Anyway, next point really stems from the above.

I installed SimpleDesk using the addon manager. It worked fine. However, and I really must be being dense, but nothing has changed whatsoever. The forum looks the same, the directory looks the same, I have no extra links or abilities and there is no big button jumping out saying "SIMPLEDESK CLICK HERE". It's very confusing.

Any help here?

edit: so wow I am being an idiot http://www.simpledesk.net/community/index.php?topic=533.0 - got it working. But hell that is not obvious? Core features? wtf? just a 10 line installation guide would be nice!

and please stop asking me to complete CAPTCHA I am not a bot.

I was never much of a fan of the core features idea at all, since it isn't even a *core* feature. The package manager should have redirected you there automatically after installation, though, to help you along.
