SMF Draft Mod Problems

Hi,

I hope this is the right place to ask about the SMF Draft mod.

I have installed this mod using the Package Manager (emulating v2.0.2) which reports no problems, however there is no 'Save as Draft' button on either the Post Reply or Quick Reply pages, there also is no mention of Drafts in the Profile > Show Posts pages.

I have manually checked the installed files and other than some duplicated code they appear OK, the duplicates presumably caused by previous attempts to install.

I have installed mods: SMF update 2.0.3 and 2.0.4. , PM Attachments,  Reason for Editing and PDF Tag.

I am testing this under an administrators account, so I presume it is not a permissions issue.

I guess, I have a corrupt file somewhere, but everything else on the Forum appears to be working OK.

I have tried un-installing the mods, (other than the update ones) this has no effect.

Any suggestions as to where I should look for the problem would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Steve

Definitely sure *all* the changes were made everywhere?

TopCatToo

Hi,

Thanks for responding.

This morning, just to make sure, I downloaded all the files listed in the 'Manual Install Instructions' list  and edited 'my' version to  the edits listed, uploaded the files, cleared the cache and there is still no 'Save as Draft' button.

So yes, I'm sure I've checked all the edits I know about, where do I look next?

Does your theme have a custom Post.template.php?

TopCatToo

Hi,

Yes, the Post.template.php is different from the v2.0.2 version.

But, the only differences appear to be edits applied by the Draft mod and the Reason for Editing mod.

Well, it would be, but that wasn't what I asked.

Are you using the SMF default theme? If not, look in Themes/ for the folder for your current theme. Inside there, is there a Post.template.php file?

Sorry, I didn't understand......

Yes, I am using the default theme and there is a Post.template.php and it's backup.

But anyway the issue is solved because I have tonight 'discovered' a setting in Manage Posts and Topics > Post Settings.

I had previously found Permissions > General Permissions > Save drafts of new posts and Automatically save draft posts and thought this was all that was required.

Drafts now works as it should.

Thank you for your patience and I'm sorry for wasting your time.

btw I am unable to mark this topic solved  ???
