SimpleDesk Tracker / Re: Replace/add to help templates
August 02, 2010, 03:01:23 PM
I would actually like to see this changed to be a link from the help section to a manual here on SD. I have a feeling the help section as it currently exists will soon be scrapped anyways. I'd rather not spend a lot of time adding a section to it if the whole thing is going to be ditched soon after.

When NOT in helpdesk-only mode, it would be easy enough to add a new area to the help section for SD, even if it was just to point them to the manual on SD.

Thanks! Will do. :D

Unfortunately, immediately following my offer to help, I moved to a new apartment. :) The move itself is not unfortunate, merely the fact that it has hindered me from working on SD as much as I would have liked. Give me another week or so, and I should be good to go.

SimpleDesk Discussion / Re: Reply Sort Order

Should it be a separate SD setting, or should it just follow the user's SMF setting? I would lean toward the latter. I don't see why someone would want topics to display in one order and tickets in the opposite. :)

Any particular reason?

To me it seems to fall outside the scope of a helpdesk. It's more of an SMF mod that adds information to SD. I could see it as a mod that's applied after SD is already installed, but it seems out of place in SD core.

This doesn't really sound like something I'd like to see in SD core, but at the same time I think it's a cool idea. How about creating a mod-of-a-mod? lol j/k

I think it's time we launch Operation: Get More Girls. B can make more female-targeted marketing strategies. ;)

lol I'll see what I can do. :D

Basically I think only one person actually set whether they were male or female.

I set it on mine. :)

General Discussion / Re: SD on Standalone

The short answer is yes. :) SimpleDesk is a modification for SMF, so the forum software is required to run it. It does, however, give administrators the opportunity to shut down the forum and use only the help desk.

lol Noted. I'll add it. ;)
