Title: Concerning SimpleDesk and SMF
Post by: Gruffen on February 05, 2010, 04:48:33 PM
Some of you may have read a few alarming things about issues between former and standing SMF team members. Some of our team have been asked how that will affect SimpleDesk. Simply put, it won't.

SimpleDesk will be available for SMF 2.0 RC2 and any subsequent versions as they are released. In the unlikely event that SMF happens to fold or be abandoned, the architecture and work that have gone into SimpleDesk will allow it to be converted into a standalone product. This is, however, a worst case scenario. We do not anticipate that this will be needed any time in the near future.

We look forward to be able to bring your SMF forum a functional helpdesk soon! :)

Good to hear! =)

It's also reassuring to hear that you guys do have a plan in case things go sour.

I can just imagine the SD Team shouting "Go to Plan B! Go to Plan B! This is not a drill!" in case of an emergency. *laughs* Who knows, maybe you guys will run some practice drills on here to keep everyone in tip top shape. ;)

But I could just be going too far with my jokes as I usually do. :P
